"Meganoid" is the term used for the enemy faction in general.
"Megaborg" is the name of the giant combat form they take when going toe-to-toe with Banjou and Daitarn 3, and they are all roughly 100-150 meters each, some larger.
Background: Many years ago, Banjou's father, Souzo Haran, was conducting research on Marz, developing a new form of cyborg that could think for itself, calling his new creation "Meganoids". Before long, their ability to think for themselves led them to run beyond Souzo's control, and they killed everyone, save for Banjou himself. Banjou escaped the Mars research station on a rocket with one of Souzo's other creations, a massive super robot known as Daitarn 3. Banjou knew peace for a while, living on his father's inheritance and home on Earth, until Meganoids began to attack the Earth themselves.
Banjou has already been to battle with Meganoids many times now, with the aide of his butler Garrison, his childhod friend "Beauty", an ex-Interpol agent Reika, and some dorky little kid who happens to be a crack shot, Toppo (whom is probably easily confused as his little brother). While the latter team handle things outside of mecha combat, such as espionage, intelligence, and saving Banjou's ass when HE gets in trouble, they're not outside using the extra Daitarn machines the Daifighter and Daitank (of which do not transform outside these forms). With friends for morale and other support and a pocket full of money, he's been taking it to the Meganoids to protect the Earth.
Original canon background: N/a
Personality: Banjou is easily mistaken for his age; suave, mature, skilled, you'd think he was a man of his 20's, or older! He's always prepared for a run in with Megaborgs, from an everyday outing with the team, to a romantic night with whatever woman he's managed to woo over. Whatever the case may be, he's ready for it, with, or without his trusty tream.
However... often enough we're reminded that Banjou is just an 18 year old boy, who's not at all above picking on his friends and playing pranks on them. He doesn't take things too far but you know... he always knows how to push just that right button to get to someone. As well, he's not the man of grace and perfection he always seems to be. Despie his skill and reflexes in a fight, he's just as likely to trip on a pebble, set off a trap, or land crotch-first on something as he is making a perfectly graceful landing or dodge-roll. This half-reflects while piloting Daitarn 3, with Daitarn 3 typically emoting many of Banjou's gestures and expressions, be they of confidence or dumbfounded surprise.
Like any good teen, Banjou has a healthy interest in the ladies. Of course, he's quite the gentleman about it as well, romancing and wooing a woman the proper way; kind words, gestures, gifts, as well as his already charming good looks. More often than not he gets the ladies he's after... but just as often they end up being Meganoids (what luck.) So quite hopefully he can land himself one that isn't, though it's far from his penultimate goal in life.
Yet, regardless of how he feels about the Meganoids, he's shown a few of them mercy and compassion. He's learned first hand that not ALL Meganoids are wholly evil, hell, some of them shockingly human! Having found that many Meganoids try to live a human life, showing love, and compassion like any other, he is happy to leave them to return to a normal life, or save them from their connection with the evil Meganoids he does battle with every day. Unfortunately he doesn't have the best track record...
Yet there are those whom are simply unforgivable, or cannot convince him that they retain human honor when they've taken the Megaborg's appearance and power. These Megaborgs are utterly unforgivable, and not only earn his ire, but a Sun Attack right in the face. While it seems hypocritical to try and save some and never forgive others, it tends to fall on a case-by-case basis.
Capabilities and Resources: Banjou, likely through inheritance from his late father's research, has fat stacks of cash. At 18 he already owns a mansion, and large enough property to have a pool AND an underground base to house Daitarn 3. Banjou also has Garrison, his trusty, loyal butler who seems to have his own information network.
Just as well, Banjou has amazing physical ability well beyond his build and age, and years of college and FBi experience, despite that he is only legally 18 years old. Banjou is seen to be able to leap up dozens of feet into the air and bend steel bars with his bare hands.
Truth be told, Banjou may or may not be a Meganoid himself, and not even know. Nobody knows... who could verify or deny it? But that's all it'll ever come to, ooc speculation, given that people with amazing physical ability exist already (We're looking at you G-Fighters who may [or may not] be in this world).
Type: Combatant
Unit Name: Daitarn 3 (including DaiTank, DaiFighter, Mach Patrol and Mach Attacker)
Unit Description: The titular Invincible Steel Man! Daitarn 3! Built of Martian metals, the 120 meter tall Super Robot was designed to test Megaborgs... Test them against what, we'll never get to find out since they're all evil jerks that need a good face punching!
To start, Daitarn 3 is a multi-form, and multi-part machine. Banjou gets around with his spiffy car, he calls the Mach Patrol (which resembles an older police cruiser). The car itself is a bit more durable than your everyday car, but doesn't contain any sort of weapons. However it transforms into a plane known as the Mach Attacker. Though a simple jet-type machine, it does have at least machine guns to defend itself.
Banjou wears a special transmitter necklace which, when shouted into "Daitarn! Come here!", from anywhere in the world that's not blocked of sunlight (or moon, generally anywhere outdoors), Daitarn 3 will deploy from Banjou's mansion and arrive nearby within moments for him to dock the Mach Attacker (though it's not an integral part, and can be boarded manually.) In most cases, DaiFighter is the first form to be seen of Daitarn 3, a massive plane-like machine. It uses machine guns, missiles, and can move at Mach 20. In space it can hit near light-speed as well as safely re-enter the atmosphere all by itself.
An uncommon sight is the DaiTank, a land-locked mobile artillery unit that seems even more armored than it really is. While it's also limited to missiles, it also uses massive Leg Canons as it's primary weapon.
Now the main event, Daitarn 3 itself, the 120 meter tall grandaddy of Super Robots (though not the grand'father', that's Mazinger). Like many Supers, much of it's decoration are used as a weapons, such as the Big Web made from the crest on it's chest; a 4 sided throwing blade. Balls from it's shoulders morph to become the basis of the Daitarn Hammer, which is actually a chained mace. Finally the Cross Dart is made from the designs on it's shins. Also like many Supers, many a weapon are hidden within Daitarn, some of which don't make sense coming from those places mechanically. The Daitarn Zanber's handle ejects from it's wrist and then forms a blade from electricity? Daitarn Fan ejects from the mecha's knee, and the Daitarn Missile from the cotpiece.
Daitarn's coup-de-gras is the Sun Attack, a concentrated ball of solar energy shot from the crest on Daitarn 3's head. Upon impact, it begins the destruction of it's target, as well as locks them in place for the finishing blow, "Daitarn Crash", which regardless of the target's size seems to allow Daitarn to kick a perfect hole into the enemy, if not pass right through it (or this is just exaggeration on part of both anime and SRW).

Wingmen: Beauty Tachibana and/or Reika Sanjo in the "DaiFighter".
The girls are Banjou's friends and assistants in his fight against the Meganoids. Where Beauty is noticeably bubbly and vain, she's still very capable, though she does tend to complain A LOT, especially if things get dicey or dirty. Reika is significantly more serious, though still fairly girly. She puts up with far more and shows less of a feminine side otherwise.
The DaiFighter is, even quoted, a knockoff of Daitarn 3's similar form. It operates exactly as the original, however it cannot transform, not utilize any of Daitarn 3's specialties.
Toppo in the "DaiTank"
Despite being a pest, and a brat, Toppo is fairly accurate with shooting. Like any 7 year old, he's loud, obnoxious, complains a ton, and mashes buttons. It's possible the DaiTank was fitted so that button mashing actually accomplishes something.
The DaiTank is just like Daitarn 3's, but yet again, lacks any of it's unique weapons or abilities, and cannot transform.
For what it's worth, it's to be noted that Reika, Beauty, Toppo, and even Garrison can pilot any of the machines, even Daitarn 3 itself (to varying efficiency in order of Garrison as best, Beauty, Reika, then Toppo).
Mission requirement:Banjou will be starting as part of the Unity group, ideally.
Suggested Event List:
Mission: Dreams of the Past in the Darkness
During a fight a "Death Battle" (aka Meganoid battleship) appears overhead and appears to consume everything into itself via tractor beam. Enemy and ally alike are drawn into the ship and surrounded by darkness. Everyone even appears to be pulled out of their mecha as well! Soon, it becomes worse, bizarre images, disturbing, near-nightmarish sights! Though the attack it targeting Banjou mostly, everyone gets a little taste of the things that they fear, or at least make them freak out to a degree.
However, just as Banjou starts to see through it, they pull out the big guns... his family. When he first things he gets the warm embrace of his family, they switch up the game, turning them one by one into Megaborg prototypes, getting deep into his psyche. And every time he seems to overcome the illusions, they remind him WHO made the Meganoids. HIS father. Though they try to trick him into thinking HE is an Meganoid, he takes it the other way, reminding himself he is the man who stands against them. They were clearly fools to even try!
And surely enough everyone else can overcome the increasingly lame illusions as most of the efforts are focused on breaking Banjou down. So, turns out after throwing a punch and breaking a wall... NOBODY EVER left their cockpits, rather it was all an illusion inside of a giant BOX they'd been rounded up in by a legit tractor beam. Rather than breaking Banjou, they only doubled his resolve and pon smashing into their battleship, their CO. Prued (or Frued?) combine into their Megaborg forms to do battle against Banjou directly! Unfortunately, aside from a few cheap tricks like shuriken to the face, or spikey bear hugs, they frankly suck. What this did manage was possibly introducing others to Banjou's battle against the Meganoids
Mission: Beauty, Poem of the Beloved
A "Death Battle" has been snatching up transports out in space; from frigates, to passenger vessels. Cue Banjou to investigate ANY Meganoid activity, but in that event, Beauty is kidnapped and hauled away, changing things from an investigation to a rescue mission. During the chace to get Beauty back, using Daitarn 3, the but-like Death Battle starts tossing out giant dinosaurs to fend him off. Dinosaurs armed with fly swatters and clubs. Attacking the Death Battle shows that not only is Beauty chained up on deck, but the whole ship is rigged to go off if anyone hits it, destroying all hostages from the disappearing ships.
An offer is made to trade Banjou for the hostages, but as he gives himself up, he's tricked, chained up on deck beside Beauty, and the enemy commander Nendol takes off with Daitarn 3. Banjou brings his humanity into question again by breaking the chains binding him ON HIS OWN and claims the Death Battle for his own use. Chomping down on Daitarn's arm with the Death Battle, he gets in and drives Nendol out, which makes him transform to his huge Megaborg form. He can stretch and has missile launchers in his pectorals.
While this just seems like another MOTW incident, this actually marks the last of failed Meganoid commanders. Banjou is finally going to take the fight TO them and end it once and for all, now that a lot more things of his past are coming up and catching much more innocents in the crossfire of his war against Meganoids.
Banjou takes the fight to the Meganoids, by launching himself (and crew) on giant "Mother Rockets" (named after the Haran Mansion's main computer) designed to take Daitarn and crew up into space. However, the Meganoids are just as prepared and have already begun to move Mars OUT OF ORBIT with their own boosters to use it and bring their base all the closer to Earth. The Rockets alone can smash easily through Meganoid ships along the way. The spread of Mother's that launch throw off the enemy fleet, making them think there's more than ONE Daitarn on board, and that any of them could be Banjou, not just the one in the lead going solo.
(In short, everyone gets a temporary Cruise ship with big powerful lasers without having to get in their own machines yet)
Using the ships, everyone breaks through enemy lines to Mars, where the Meganoids persue. While Banjou runs solo to take out rockets, he's confronted by Koros, the Meganoid's female leader. Out-skilled and out gunned, Koros is quickly taken down, but just before being finished off, Don Zauther comes forth finally, moving for the first time in years, and confronts Banjou. This is the first Meganoid created by Souzo haran, but having been putty in Koros's hands for years (even stating that "Banjou is just a boy"), he comes for Banjou in her name and for revenge. Don Zauther is at least 3 times bigger than Daitarn 3. He uses much of space lightning and little else. But despite all of the Don's size and power, Banjou and Daitarn 3 won't have any of his speeches or mind games and wipes him out with a Sun Attack. With both commanding Meganoids defeated, their station is destroyed and Mars is returned to proper orbit, otherwise undamaged.
